š They said Iād never pull it off.
They said I was ādoing too much.ā
They told me to quit, get a job, stay small.
š Baby, I donāt even OWN small.
I started comedy at 37 with kids at home ā so I couldnāt live on the road. Instead, I became my own damn network:
š¬ Certified TV producer
šØ Editor & graphic designer
š» Web builder
š¤ PR & branding queen
ā¦oh, AND comedian.
Why? Because I wasnāt about to wait 30 years for somebody in Hollywood to ādiscoverā me. I discovered MYSELF.
Yesterday I didnāt just get an office⦠I became a PARTNER in the building. Who does that? Walks in looking for space, walks out in partnership. šš½
And on October 15, Iām celebrating 15 years of comedy AND filming the very first taping of the Amber Starr sitcom. (Actual comedy day: 10/10. My Houston Day: 11/11. Weāre making it one giant party.)
š Lost 5 family members.
š Survived a public failed marriage.
š Buried my baby sister to suicide.
š Got robbed, betrayed, broken.
But Iām still here. Louder. Stronger. Unstoppable.
Iāve never had an investor. Never begged. Never sold my soul for a seat at anybodyās table. I BUILT THE TABLE. And now I rent the office space above it. š
If my light makes you jealous, thatās not my problem ā thatās your unhealed wounds. Heal up, sis, because the view from obedience and alignment is WILD.
So yeah⦠October 15. Comedy. Sitcom. Party. Legacy. Pull up or watch from the sidelines. Either way, weāre going UP. š
