Today the red carpet opens at 3pm! Alright Houston… let me go on and say this before somebody else announces it for me:
I’ve been tapped to do the Corporate Comedy LIVE Institute Mental Health Segment at the Hearts of Gold Gala — as a corporate comedian, publicist, and board member for the Houston Cares Foundation and Corporate Comedy Live Institute.
Yes.
ME.
The same person who roasts Houston traffic for being a spiritual attack.
Listen… if you know me, you already know I’m not coming up there with no soft “breathe in, breathe out” speech.
I’m coming with that H-Town truth-telling comedy that clears sinuses, childhood trauma, AND fake friendships.
My segment is called:
“10 Ways Houston Messes Up a Fundraiser.”
And if you feel triggered, GOOD — it means you’re self-aware. 😂
Because y’all KNOW how we do:
• Southside vs Northside beef still going strong like we ain’t all sitting in the same traffic on 45.
• Folks who “moved here last year” acting like they grew up in Third Ward but can’t pronounce Chimney Rock.
• Someone ALWAYS sneaking in a flask like we don’t see you sipping out that metal bottle like a raccoon in a club.
• The centerpiece thief… every gala has one. We see you sliding it under your chair.
• And the table that only claps halfway. You know who you are.
But behind the jokes, we really pushing this message:
Houston Cares.
Not just Houston Strong.
Not just “We outside.”
We actually CARE.
Mental health matters.
Community matters.
Unity matters — even if Southside still swears Northside food ain’t seasoned.
And yes… I WILL be encouraging giving.
If your table envelope feels light, I WILL circle back around like an H-E-B sample lady. Don’t play with me.
Come laugh, learn, heal, and support women who truly need us.
